Upstream is a book about the power of prevention. It argues that we spend too much time and resources dealing with the symptoms of problems, when we could be much more effective by preventing those problems from happening in the first place. The book explores the psychological forces that push us downstream, and it introduces us to a number of unconventional problem solvers who have made significant progress by thinking upstream. Heath provides practical advice on how to solve problems upstream, and he offers hope that we can make a real difference in the world by thinking upstream.
